Stenopsyche adult: Stenopsyche caddisfly, known as "Zazamushi", was once a significant source of protein in rural village in Japan. Cooked with sugar and soy sauce, the delicacy is still sold at supermarkets in Nagano. Nagano is a boundary region of crustal plates (continental plates), in which genetically different strains are sometimes co-habitat even for the same species, that is, a "Global Hot Spot in Biodiversity".
