Treatment with Q-VD-Oph protected female but not male mice from retinal degeneration induced by alkylating chemotherapy (MMS). This material relates to a paper that appeared in the Feb. 13, 2019, issue of Science Translational Medicine, published by AAAS. The paper, by M. Allocca at Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, MA; and colleagues was titled, "Inflammation, necrosis, and the kinase RIP3 are key mediators of AAG-dependent alkylation-induced retinal degeneration."
