Movie showing preparation of a silk nanofibril (SNF) and hydroxyapatite (HAP) multilayer syringe ultrafilter. The SNF/HAP ultrafilter successfully filtered a blue-stained solution with a rejection rate of 98%. This material relates to a paper that appeared in the 05 April 2017, issue of Science Advances, published by AAAS. The paper, by S. Ling at Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, Mass., and colleagues was titled, "Design and function of biomimetic multilayer water purification membranes."
