Implementation of the first quantum satellite link in the Southern Hemisphere at Stellenbosch University, South Africa. The microsatellite, Jinan 1, launched in the lower earth orbital, transmits secure keys with the portable ground station that is mounted on top of the roof of the engineering building at Stellenbosch University. The experiment was performed in October 2024.
