Formation mechanism, bonding interface, and shear strengths of the HEC joint with in-situ alloyed high-melting-point Nb₂Ni layer (IMAGE)
Caption
Diffusion-induced eutectic reaction, accelerated in-situ alloying of Nb, and improved contact of HEC/Nb2Ni interface by assisted liquid film. TEM observation of the HEC/Nb2Ni interface and the corresponding SAED confirmed the reliable metallurgical bonding. The shear strengths of HEC/Nb2Ni/HEC joints increased by 49% at high temperatures (≥800°C) compared to that of HEC/Ni/HEC diffusion-bonded joints.
