Alyssa Grube (left), a graduate student in chemical and biomolecular engineering, and Mona Bavarian, assistant professor of chemical and biomolecular engineering, hold a textile-based supercapacitor. The supercapacitor would help power a wearable wristband designed to monitor patients’ heart rate, blood oxygen content and temperature during surgical procedures.
