Clinical application schematic of additive manufacturing in medical metal implants

Many medical implantable devices fabricated using additive manufacturing (AM) technology are already in use in the medical field. The figure shows the clinical application of AM in medical metal implants. In the field of cardiovascular stent fabrication, a well-designed AM process can create tubular geometries that enable balloon-expandable structures.
