Quark-Gluon Dynamics in SRCs (IMAGE)
Caption
Short-range correlations are quantum mechanical fluctuations that occur between protons and neutrons when they’re close together and strongly interacting (left). In results published in Physical Review Letters, a team of nuclear and particle physicists provide evidence that these temporary pairings of protons and neutrons affect the distribution of their constituent quarks and gluons (right).
