Cocrystallization improves chemical properties of ammonium nitrate

Cocrystallizing inexpensive and environmentally friendly ammonium nitrate (AN) with inexpensive glycine (Gly) results in the stabilization of both molecules, suppressing temperature-induced AN phase transition, reducing AN hygroscopicity and making AN/Gly a suitable and environmentally friendly alternative to metal-containing oxidizers.
