Trends in Stillbirth Rates in Europe

Stillbirth rates in Germany have risen steadily since 2010, from an initial 2.8 stillbirths per 1000 births to 3.7 in 2021. Across Europe, only Belgium has seen a similar increase. In most European countries, stillbirth rates have either stagnated since 2010, as in Austria and Italy, or continued to fall, as in Denmark and Spain.
