Selenoproteins safeguard stemness of hematopoietic stem cells and B-lineage maturation. Disrupted selenoprotein synthesis recapitulated aged phenotype. The accumulation of lipid peroxidation accelerated by aging occurs in specific cellular contexts and lineages. Under such oxidative stress, B cell progenitors acquire myeloid characteristics.
