Coherent Broadband Supercontinuum (CBS) generation with phase-matching-free second-order optical nonlinearity. a) schematic of the CBS generation by a DFG process in a nanomaterial with a deep-subwavelength thickness (~100 nm).  The thickness is significantly lower than the coherence length of the incident beams, enabling phase-matching free operation b) Tunable CBS generation at different l2 with the spectral width (Dl2) of the input beam B2 is given in the label with the central wavelength (l2) while the beam B1 is fixed at 400 nm wavelength.
