Lung and related cancer deaths decreased in the world’s 10 most populous countries over the past 40 years, but there is still a pressing need for public health measures to further reduce tobacco use and related mortality and the cancer risk from air pollution and asbestos exposure. The findings are published in eClinicalMedicine, part of The Lancet. Co-authors include Chinmay Jani, MD; Estelamari Rodriguez, MD, MPH; and senior author, Gilberto Lopes, MD.
