Spin vectors of a meron pair.

Spin vectors of a meron pair. Unlike the rapidly oscillating electric and magnetic fields of the surface plasmon polariton underlying this spin texture, the texture itself is stable in time throughout the duration of the plasmon pulse. The horizontal separation of the two (red) maxima is approximately half of the wavelength of the surface plasmon polariton (390 nm).
