Salience network locations related to dementia's behavioral impacts (IMAGE)
Caption
In this image displaying a “standard brain” (created by averaging brain scans from hundreds of participants not involved in this study), purple spheres show the locations in the brain linked by what is called the salience network. These interconnected areas are key to our ability to understand and decide how to react to things that are happening around us, and help us process our own thoughts and emotions.
