Increase of PCSK9 expression in diabetes promotes VEGFR2ubiquitination to inhibit endothelial function and skin woundhealing (IMAGE)
Caption
The upregulation of PCSK9 expression in endothelial cells of diabetic patients induces ubiquitination of VEGFR2 and inhibits the VEGFR2/ AKT/eNOS -ERK signaling pathway by promoting the interaction of NEDD4 with VEGFR2 to inhibit vascular endothelial function and diabetic wound healing. Using a PCSK9 monoclonal antibody, Evolocumab, significantly improved vascular function and wound healing in diabetic mice, providing a new therapeutic approach to promote diabetic foot ulcer wound healing in the clinic.
