Figure illustrates the process of RNA editing, where a particular letter within the RNA sequence (A for Adenosine) is changed to I (Inosine), altering a specific amino acid at the protein level, thus allowing cells to express two different versions of the channel GluClα: edited and unedited.
The lower image depicts the use of CRISPR to generate flies that have only the unedited version of the protein.
