Oldenburg's Energy Lab (IMAGE)
Caption
The Energy Lab is one of the few architectural testimonies to the early days of the energy transition in Germany. The building went into operation in 1982 and was exceptionally energy-efficient for those times. The 336 photovoltaic modules were already five years old when they were installed on the roof of the building in 1981. They originally had a rated output of 3.5 kilowatts, and most of them are still feeding energy into the grid.
