Physical methods manipulate brain ECS potentially through glymphatic system

Studies have indicated that electrical stimulation could increase solutes diffusion in the brain and perivascular influx in the glymphatic pathway. Transcranial magnetic stimulation could accelerate glymphatic clearance efficiency and AQP4 repolarization to alleviate Aβ burden. Similarly, light and ultrasound stimulation were found to improve ISF flow, glymphatic clearance and molecule transport in brain ECS.
