Arrhythmia_optogenetics (IMAGE)
Caption
A cardiac ventricular arrhythmia can be converted to a normal sinus rhythm (white line) by using a sequence of light pulses (blue line) in an optogenetic mouse heart. Applying such pulsed light, rotating waves (multicolor in background) driving the arrhythmia are effectively terminated.
