Exploring the association between Guillain–Barré syndrome (GBS) and Takotsubo cardiomyopathy (TCM) (IMAGE)
Caption
GBS, an immune-mediated peripheral neuropathy, causes transient autonomic dysfunctions, including heart, bladder, and bowel problems. Interestingly, however, GBS can also cause TCM, a serious complication requiring physicians to be more cautious. Researchers at Kindai University have now found parameters that reveal the link between these two disorders.
