A Novel Organosilica Membrane for Separating Organic Liquids (VIDEO)
Caption
Membrane separation is a promising strategy for separating organic liquid mixtures, which is an essential step in the pharmaceutical and hydrocarbon industries. In this study, researchers developed and tested a novel ionic liquid-based membrane in a pervaporation setup, achieving high selectivity and permeability when separating certain alcohols and aromatic hydrocarbons from alkanes.
