Combined DFT calculations with electrochemical methods, the potential of NiCo2O4 catalysts for electrocatalytic glycerol oxidation reaction (EGOR) was explored. The meticulously constructed NiCo2O4 catalysts demonstrated excellent OH* adsorption potential. In-situ generated OH* during the reaction process achieved outstanding electrocatalytic efficiency by reducing the activation energy to regulate the rate-determining step (RDS).
