SpyCage animation (VIDEO)
Caption
SpyCage is a new platform for intranasal vaccines being developed at Penn State. The surface of SpyCage, a protein scaffold that resembles a tiny wire-frame soccer ball, can be decorated with pieces of a virus so that it resembles a virus in size, shape, and symmetry. When administered via the nose, it can induce an immune response in pre-clinical animal testing.
