A new study in the journal Circulation Research led by James Smyth, associate professor at the Fralin Biomedical Research Institute at VTC, challenges conventional beliefs by suggesting that viral infections may instigate hazardous cardiovascular conditions far earlier than previously thought, well in advance of the onset of inflammation-associated damage.
