Researchers at TUS have proposed a novel mechanism for the cyclization catalyzed by the cyclization domain of cyclic β-1,2-glucan synthase isolated from Thermoanaerobacter italicus (TiCGSCy). The TiCGSCy mechanism defines a new glycoside family 189.
