Thick porous nano composite coating (IMAGE)
Caption
This illustration shows how the researchers created their thick, porous nanocomposite antifouling coating (from left to right). With the help of nozzle-assisted printing, they locally coated only the working electrode of an electrochemical sensor with an oil-in-water emulsion. Following the evaporation of tiny oil bubbles, an bovine serum albumin (BSA)-based nanocomposite scaffold remains with an electron-conducing mesh of gold nanowire (AuNW) embedded into it.
