Junhong Chen, Crown Family Professor at the Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering at the University of Chicago and Lead Water Strategist at Argonne National Laboratory, is the co-Principal Investigator and Use-Inspired R&D Lead for Great Lakes ReNEW. The group received an award of up to $160 million - believed to be one of the largest, if not the largest climate award in the city of Chicago’s history - as one of the inaugural U.S. National Science Foundation’s Regional Innovation Engines.
