CYGNSS MODEL (IMAGE) Southwest Research Institute Caption A model of the Cyclone Global Navigation Satellite System (CYGNSS) will be a part of a permanent exhibit at the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum showing the evolution of spacecraft over several decades. The spacecraft is one of a constellation of 8 identical microsatellites designed, built and operated by Southwest Research Institute (SwRI) and the University of Michigan, to improve hurricane forecasting.
