Electrocatalytic CO2 reduction, a promising technology for converting CO2 into useful chemicals and fuels, also contributes to carbon emissions reduction. Currently, despite the fundamental research in this field is reaching a stage of maturity, the leap to industrial-scale applications requires further exploration. This comment sheds light on the multi-scale optimization direction for large-scale CO2 utilization, delving into the challenges and opportunities present in catalyst development, interfaces construction, overall cell optimization, and cell stack assembly.
