Matthew Bertin is investigating the chemicals in cyanobacteria blooms, which may hold a key to reducing neuroinflammation, a factor in diseases such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. It is just part of his and David Rowley's research into marine and fresh water systems, a tradition of research in the URI College of Pharmacy.
