The formation mechanism of CR-hvKP and clinical presentation associated with CR-hvKP infection. (IMAGE)
Caption
The formation of CR-hvKP is the result of the ongoing evolution of plasmids containing genes for carbapenem resistance or hypervirulence, with the help of IncF/IncN3 plasmid, E. coli, OMVs, etc. The clinical presentations of CR-hvKP include pyogenic liver abscesses, endophthalmitis, and meningitis caused by hvKP, as well as hospital-acquired urinary tract infections, pneumonia, septicemias, and soft tissue infections associated with CRKP.
