Schematic diagram showing PRMT1-enhanced gastric cancer metastasis mediated by the β-catenin signaling pathway in vitro and in vivo. (IMAGE)
Caption
In the cytoplasm, KTN1 inhibits K48-linked polyubiquitination of PRMT1 by decreasing the interaction between TRIM48 and PRMT1. Then, in the nucleus, PRMT1 recruits MLXIP to the β-catenin promoter and transcriptionally activates the β-catenin signaling pathway. PRMT1 promotes gastric cancer cell proliferation, migration, and invasion of in vitro and tumor growth and metastasis in vivo.
