NASA recently selected ECCCO, a CFA-SwRI collaboration, for Phase A mission development. This image shows a coronal mass ejection (CME) forming in the corona, highlighting how ECCCO’s new, wide-field extreme-ultraviolet view of the corona will help better connect the sources of outflows from the solar corona, such as CMEs and the solar wind, to their origins near the Sun.
