The dynamic neutrophil glycoproteome (IMAGE)
Caption
An international research collaboration mapped the glycosylation of proteins from both maturing and mature neutrophils, a type of white blood cell that responds to tissue injury and infection. Their analysis revealed that unusual carbohydrate molecules decorate the neutrophil’s proteins and that these glycoproteins localize to specific subcellular compartments and are associated with microbicidal processes.
